Why do we create uniforms?
Our way of working is about to change significantly with the evolution of AI.
The tools we use are changing,
the way we work is changing,
and the boundaries between job roles are gradually blurring.
Nevertheless, work is not solely defined by function or efficiency.
There is a culture that the people doing that work have built.
The language used.
The values held dear.
The way work is done.
Little jokes and particular quirks.
We want to cherish the culture surrounding work, precisely because the work itself is changing in this era.
Product Manager.
Software Engineer.
Designer.
Founder.
We each have different roles,
work at different companies,
and create different things.
But sometimes, we feel a certain affinity for the same words and values.
We wanted to express this culture surrounding work as clothing.
Clothes are a strange thing.
Favorite music.
Favorite sports team.
Favorite brand.
What you like,
what you value.
Even without words,
what you wear can convey a little bit of that.
Work might be the same.
You don't necessarily want to loudly proclaim your job title.
But you have an attachment to the way that work is thought about and its culture.
What Product Manager wants to create is
a uniform to quietly express such values.
And, sometimes.
You see someone wearing the same T-shirt as you on the street.
Even though they're a stranger,
you think, "Oh, they're one too."
It doesn't have to be the same company.
It doesn't have to be belonging to the same community.
You don't need to know their name.
Just feeling something in the same words,
and choosing the same clothes.
A conversation might start from there,
or nothing might happen.
We think that's fine too.
What we want to create is
not a uniform to make everyone the same.
Working in different places,
creating different things,
having different ideas.
That's perfectly fine.
It's simply something that allows you to wear
the culture and values surrounding that work.
We call that a uniform.
Not corporate novelty goods,
nor startup swag.
A uniform for those who create the future.
Product Manager wants to preserve the words, values, and culture of the people working in this era,
in the form of clothing.
